BatteryChargingLocker

The BatteryChargingLocker from Lo Minck Mobility is a high-quality modular stainless steel storage and charging cabinet in which bicycle batteries, and possibly other small devices such as smartphones or iPads, can be safely stored and/or charged in individual compartments. Although this unique locker, due to its compartmentalized and modular design, has features to limit the effects of a battery fire, the BatteryChargingLocker is not a fire safety cabinet.

The product principle is based on basic modules with one individually lockable charging compartment (LMS1), 2 individually lockable compartments (LMS2) or 4 individually lockable compartments (LMS4). These basic modules can be configured into assemblies ranging from 1 to 8 individual charging compartments. Each compartment is equipped with a power socket (230V). The dimensions of the compartments are tailored to standard batteries, including the charger.

Difference BatteryChargingLocker compared to charging with a wall socket and/or charging points integrated into the bike rack.

  • In the charging locker both the bike battery and the charging cable are stored safely and securely. The chance of theft is therefore minimal.
  • In addition to bike batteries, other small electronic devices such as smartphones or tablets, as well as objects like bike helmets, can also be stored safely.
  • The charging capacity can be easily and quickly expanded by adding extra modules. In contrast, expanding charging capacity with wall sockets is often challenging (few suitable locations) and, above all, costly.
  • Electric bikes can be placed anywhere in a bike storage area, not just near wall sockets.
  • In contrast to wall sockets, the charging locker provides better protection against the increasing problem of spontaneously igniting bicycle batteries. Thanks to the individual compartments and modular design (up to 4 compartments per module), any potential fire is better contained, and the ejection of burning parts—and thus the rapid spread of a fire—is prevented. Placing a smoke detector in close proximity to the charging locker ensures that any fires are detected at an early stage. Note: The BatteryChargingLocker is not a fire safety cabinet!
  • Wall sockets and/or charging points integrated into bike racks are relatively vulnerable and therefore require regular maintenance.

Specification BatteryChargingLocker

Material: Stainless steel

Modular design: Basic modules available with various lockable compartments.

Individual compartments: Each compartment is individually lockable and equipped with a power outlet (230V).

Compatibility: Designed for common bicycle batteries, including chargers.

Expandable capacity: The charging capacity can easily be increased by adding extra modules.

Safety: Each compartment is designed so that both the bicycle battery and the charging cable are safely and securely stored, minimizing the risk of theft.

Fire control: Although the cabinet does not have fire safety certification, the compartmentalization and modular design help limit the spread of fire. The compartments allow potentially igniting parts to be isolated.

Smoke detection: It is recommended to place smoke detectors near the locker for early fire detection.

Advantages BatteryChargingLocker

Easy to Configure

Easy to configure according to individual needs.

Batterycharginglocker

Easy to configure according to individual needs.

Suitable for storing other small electronics and personal items such as helmets.

E-bikes Free from Wall Sockets

Electric bikes do not need to be placed near wall sockets.

More sustainable than wall sockets

Less vulnerable and maintenance-intensive than wall sockets or integrated charging points in bike racks.

Outdoor Placement

Outdoor placement possible (IP53, IP54)

Placement BatteryChargingLocker

The charging locker should be placed on a stable and preferably level surface. With the adjustable feet, the charging locker can be leveled. Optionally, and at an additional cost, adjustable feet can be provided that allow the charging locker can be fixed to the ground. The base module can also be optionally mounted on the wall.

Underframe

Optionally, the charging locker can be placed on a stainless steel (RVS304) base frame to improve accessibility to the lower charging compartments. Base frame dimensions (DxBxH): 536x397x520mm. With adjustable feet, the base frame can be leveled. Optionally, and at an additional cost, adjustable feet can be provided to secure the base frame to the ground.

External charging module

Knowing that some bike batteries are integrated into the bike frame and therefore cannot be detached from the bike, the charging locker optionally expandable with a external charging module, which is equipped with 2 charging points on each side (for a total of 4 external charging points).

Additional Information

Current

A standard bike battery charger consumes 350W (approximately 1.5A). If all 1 to 8 compartments are used simultaneously at full power, this means a maximum power of 350W each (LMS1), 700W (LMS2), 1.050W (LMS3), 1.400W (LMS4), 1.750W (LMS5), 2.100W (LMS6), 2.450W (LMS7) en 2.800W (LMS8).  Preferably, the charging locker is connected to a separate circuit (230V/16A).

Digital code lock

The individual compartments have an autonomous digital code lock powered by batteries. The lock can be programmed for private or public use.

Users have access without a key. Users can set their own code. A master code ensures that the administrator always has access. Mechanical opening by the administrator with a master key is also possible.

Specifications of the digital code lock:

  • 4-digit user code
  • 6-digit master code (6-digit Sub Master Code, 6-digit Technical Code)
  • 80,000 openings with 2x AA batteries
  • Low battery warning (LED flashes)
  • Mechanical "emergency opening" with key
  • Suitable for indoor locations
  • Audible “beep” on key press (can be turned off)
  • Optional automatic opening after time expiration
  • LED indicator

Warranty

  • 1 year manufacturer's warranty (from delivery date).
